Cereal & Stewed Plum “Crumble”
Cheap, waste-friendly and super quick this recipe allows you to quench a sweet tooth whilst still feeling virtuous. Made with left over fruits, such as plums (although you can use any other summer fruit that is about to turn), this recipe has the texture and tartness of crumble but uses way less sugar and doesn’t need to be baked. Tip: Any muesli style cereal will work, but Dorset cereals ‘Super High Fibre’ works really well and is a tasty & nutritious option.
- 100g muesli Cereal
- 3 plums stoned and halved
- 1 tsp of brown sugar
1. Chop and stone your plums (or any other summer fruit) place them in a pan and boil with ½ cup of water and the brown sugar.
2. Once the fruit is boiled leave it to cool, ideally leave it over night if possible.
3. Place the fruit in a bowl and heap the cereal on top, feel free to sprinkle with a little more brown sugar or a spoon of crème fraiche.
