This week Beauty Belle tries and tests... Laura Geller Brow Sculpting Marker
($24, £15 for 0.8ml, available from www.laurageller.com)
Well groomed eye brows can be the final flourish to the perfect made up face but finding a product that doesn’t make you look like a 1990s drag queen can be quite challenging. Pencils can be too severe and powders too dark. This marker claims to solve these issues in one fell swoop...
The brief: “The Brow Sculpting Marker features a revolutionary tri-tip applicator providing polished, natural-looking results. Create tiny brow hairs where there are none, or accentuate and sculpt a full arch. Either way, the soft-tipped “marker” applies easily, dries quickly, lasts all day and is easily removed with soap and water. Use it as a base for your favorite brow powder for maximum staying power. You’ll love the formula that clings to both skin and hair.”
How to apply: “Apply to brows, following the natural shape of your arch. Use the innovative trident tip and apply in short strokes where hair is sparse or missing. For a more precise application, turn the marker at an angle and create thinner strokes. Layer on colour for a more dramatic finish."
The pros? This marker is so easy to use, you don’t have to sharpen it like a pencil and you don’t need to be too precise (like when using a powder). You simply draw onto the brow and build up the colour in short strokes to the intensity that you desire. The three tip design does give more of a natural look as you can create smaller hair like strokes, which is great. It lasts all day, especially over hair (not so much over skin), and comes in really natural colours. Plus, if you like a bolder look you can top it off with powder on top!
The cons? It has quite a wet consistency when you first apply it (although it dries quickly), which feels quite strange if you are used to using powder or pencil. It is also expensive, but since it's a great product, potentially worth the cost.
Super rating: 4/5 - This marker makes sculpting the perfect brow, quick, easy and fuss free.
